Player Jerseys

• All players MUST wear their league-issued jersey for every game.
• If a player does not have their league-issued jersey, they must request a league-issued pinny from a GULL employee at the scores table. The pinny must be returned immediately after the game.
• Team jerseys will be distributed by the league during the first week of games.
• If a player is unable to attend the first week, their jersey will be held at the scores table for pick-up at their next game.

Team Registration and Player Eligibility

• Players may only be registered on ONE team.

Exceptions:

• Regular Season Substitutions: League players may fill in for other teams only if the team has fewer than 13 players at the start of the game. This exception does not apply to playoff games.
  • If a team requires 3 or more substitute players to field a team, the game will still be played, but the team will forfeit with the final score recorded as 4-0.
• Playoff Goalie Exception: If a team is unable to field a goalie for a playoff game, the league will determine an approved substitute goalie at its discretion.

Alcohol & Drinking

• No alcoholic beverages are allowed at the GULL.
• Any team allowing players to drink during games or spectators to drink in the bench area will be subject to suspension, game forfeiture, or ejection from the league.

Trash & Clean-Up

• Use provided trash cans at the field. If none are available, teams must take their trash with them.
• Teams are responsible for cleaning their bench areas and keeping parking lots clean after games. Failure to clean up will result in forfeiture of all games played that night.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct

• Unsportsmanlike behavior by any player or team may result in ejection or suspension. This includes: verbal or physical abuse toward players, fans, or officials (e.g., swearing, fighting, intimidation).
• Teams are responsible for their spectators' behavior. Spectator misconduct can result in team penalties or disciplinary action.
• All fans must remain in designated areas at the facility.

Profanity

• No profanity is allowed. Violations may result in immediate penalties or ejection.

Parking

• Park only in designated areas.
• Parking on the grass is strictly prohibited.

Player Ejections & Suspensions

• Any player ejected from a game is automatically suspended for one (1) game and placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
• The suspension must be served during the next scheduled game that the player’s team actually plays.
• Forfeits, rainouts, or any other cancellations do not count toward fulfilling a suspension.
• If a player participates in a game after being ejected from the previous game, they will be deemed ineligible and may face indefinite suspension from the league.

Notice & Enforcement

• Suspension notices will be emailed to team captains.
• Teams are responsible for enforcing suspensions — even if they do not receive written notice.

Flagrant Unsportsmanlike Behavior

• Players who display flagrant unsportsmanlike behavior may face longer suspensions at the league's discretion.
• Suspended players are not permitted to sit on their team’s bench during their suspension.

Player Eligibility

• The use of ineligible players may result in a forfeit of the game in which the player participated.
• This violation may also lead to indefinite suspension from the league for both the ineligible player and the team captain.
• Opposing teams have the right to question the eligibility of players during a game.

Grace Period

• A 10-minute grace period is allowed for all games.
• The game clock will start at the scheduled game time when the officials are ready.
• If a team has fewer than 10 players present by the 20:00 mark on the clock, the game will be declared a forfeit.

Game Duration

• Games will not exceed one hour (excluding overtime).
• The clock will start promptly when the referees are ready to begin.

Playing Field

• All games will be played on a full-size regulation field.

Time Limit

• All games will consist of two 25-minute running halves.
• The clock will stop during the final 2 minutes of the second half if the goal differential is three or less.
• The clock also stops during overtime periods.

Penalties

• Penalties are running time and begin on the official's whistle (30 or 60 seconds).
• Penalty time will pause during injuries, timeouts, between quarters and halves, and while another penalty is being assessed.

Timeouts

• Each team is allowed one (1) timeout per game.
• Timeouts are 1 minute long.
• The clock stops during timeouts.

Tie Breakers

• If a game ends in a tie, a 3-minute "Sudden Death" overtime period will be played until a winner is determined.
• No timeouts are allowed during overtime.

Limited Contact Rules

• Officials are required to penalize questionable rough play or uncontrolled stick use (slashing).
• Any contact deemed an "intent to injure" will result in:
  • Immediate expulsion from the game
  • One-game suspension
  • Probation for the remainder of the season
• Officials are not required to give a warning before ejecting a player for dangerous play.

Shot Clock

• Officials will monitor gameplay and enforce a shot clock as needed.
• Shot clock enforcement will be communicated on the field by the officials.

Playoff Qualification

• The top 4 teams will make the playoffs.

Ranking Criteria

• Teams will be ranked based on the following criteria:
  • Best Overall Record
  • Head-to-Head Record
  • Goals Against
  • Goals Scored

Tiebreaker Rules

• In the event of a 3+ team tie, the tiebreaker process will begin at Step 3 (Goals Against).
• Once a team has been selected as the winner of the 3+ team tiebreaker, the tiebreaker process will revert to Step 2 (Head-to-Head) for the remaining teams.

Ranking Inaccuracies

• If a team notices any incorrect rankings, they should contact the league via email with an explanation of the mistake.
• Teams should not base game strategy on published standings, as occasional inaccuracies may occur.

Ranking Updates

• Rankings will be published weekly on the league website.

• A refund will be granted if the request is submitted to the league within 30 days after the player has paid or before league play has started, whichever comes first.

A team may be subject to forfeit for any of the following infractions:

• Using an ineligible player
• Unsportsmanlike conduct
• Teams are not permitted to harass officials when a forfeit is declared. Harassment may result in suspension from the league.
• Teams that are dropped from the league or fail to finish the season will forfeit all league fees to the league.

• In the event of an unforeseeable issue with the field, a member of the league will contact each team captain via phone and notify all league members through email as soon as the issue is brought to the league’s attention.
• If dangerous weather is anticipated before the scheduled start of games on league nights, all team captains will be notified, and league members will be contacted via email.
• It is the team captain’s responsibility to notify all players if a scheduled game is cancelled.
• At the game site, the officials make the final determination on whether a game should start or continue based on field conditions or weather intensity (e.g., lightning).
• If weather conditions worsen, the referees may stop the game for up to 20 minutes to evaluate the situation.
• If the game cannot be continued after 20 minutes, it will be cancelled.
• Games will not be played if there is any lightning present.
• Games cancelled due to weather will not be rescheduled.
